South Lancaster Academy (SLA) is looking for a business manager/treasurer beginning second semester of the current school year. SLA was established and has continuously operated since 1882, making it the longest continuously operating Seventh-day Adventist Academy in the world. It has a six year clear accreditation rating, the highest standing available by both the Seventh–day Adventist church and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. SLA is a strong pre k–12 senior academy located in South Lancaster Massachusetts. The school has five constituent churches which are providing consistent strong financial support. The school has a diverse student population of over 300 representing many different nationalities and ethnic groups. SLA has a highly dedicated full and part time staff of 30. The ideal candidate for business manager/treasurer must have a strong demonstrated passion for Christian Education and all of its aspects. The candidate must also have extensive inter-personal skills and experience with working with multi-ethnic groups and individuals. The business manager/treasurer works closely with the principal and is responsible for all aspects of the school’s finances. The business manager/treasurer: • Must have a general understanding of accounting related computer technology. • Must have a thorough working knowledge of LUCES school accounting software. • Maintain the school’s financial statements according to GAAP. • Will supervise the treasury administrative assistant for proper receipting of cash, checks and bank deposits. • Will manage the school’s electronic payment programs. • Will be responsible for the processing of accounts receivable and payable • Will be responsible for the processing of 3-way, SET funding, and other student scholarships. • Will process delinquent accounts to collection services. • Will be responsible for the processing of faculty and staff payroll to Southern New England Conference. • Will be responsible for developing financial/ payment plans with all parents. • Will be responsible for implementing payment plans and collections for student accounts • Will be responsible for all financial aspects of capital campaign projects. • Will develop, in conjunction with the principal, and present a yearly budget to the finance sub-committee of the school board, the full school board, and constituency. • Will work with constituent churches in all matters financially related to the school. • Will develop comprehensible financial reports for presentation to the school board finance sub- committee and the full school board.

This includes: o Screening all new music releases and making recommendations for selecting new WGTS 91.9 currents. o Participating in weekly music meetings for the purpose of selecting new WGTS 91.9 currents as well as freshening the programming clocks. o Preparing daily WGTS 91.9 music and program logs. This includes inputting all songs, promos, sweepers and content for meta data (such as album images) into G-Selector and Linker for daily music rotation. o Working with the Program Director to modify and adjust programs to function within WGTS 91.9 programming parameters. o Maintaining, cleaning and massaging the WGTS 91.9 playlist. o Conducting music surveys. • Serves as the primary contact with record company representatives. This includes arranging for new music, establishing and maintaining relationships, tracking singles and coordinating giveaway and promotional items from the record companies which may include arranging artists for “brown bag” concerts. • Provides weekly reports to national music charts. • Answers listener music questions and provides standard answers for frequently asked questions for our Service Gateway representatives. • Provides music and artist information and articles as requested for various WGTS 91.9 publications. • Prepares “walk-in” music discs as needed to play prior to and after concerts or events. • Prepares music discs or data files for use at remotes or events where the station is to be played but reception may not be adequate or a non-announcer version of WGTS 91.9 is needed. • Works with technical and legal teams as needed in providing required information for various music licensing organizations. • Prepares material for WGTS 91.9 emergency music hours – CDs, audio files on thumb drives – as required by the Program Director. • Completes audio production work as necessary and requested by the Program Director. • Analyze song research from Troy Research to aid in deciding when songs should be moved from one category to another. • Analyze Nielson Audio data using programs such as PD Advantage to determine effectiveness of specific programs, times of day, on-air talent, promotions, and such. • Assisting management and the donations department in analyzing giving patterns and other metrics that will help us serve our donors better by giving them more individualized attention. • Stay current on methods of research through continuing education, reading and networking with others doing the same. • Performs other duties as assigned.

Major gifts solicitation experience. Prior experience managing a development office within a university setting preferred. Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations and standards for the management and disclosure of public information. Knowledge of and experience in economic development and business analysis techniques. Knowledge of journalism, public relations and general communications principles and practices. Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge software, or other donor management software, preferred. Skilled in budget preparation and fiscal management. A proven record of people and project management with strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills.
