DescriptionTaipei Adventist Preparatory Academy is a 9-12 grade day academy in Taiwan. We are an American school, teaching all subjects in English and following a standard American curriculum and schedule. Our school year is from August through May. We have between 110 and 120 students each year and they are outstanding. Most are not Christian so we have a dynamic witnessing opportunity in everything we do. We are in need to an English teacher for multiple sections freshman English and American Literature. A full teaching load at TAPA is considered 5 of 9 class periods per day. One more class may be needed to meet the full time load. Possibilities are music appreciation, personal finance, choir, or an upper level language class (reading, writing or grammar). We currently have a base pay scale of 550,000NT with a current exchange rate of 31NT to 1 US dollar. Pay increases with SDA and state certifications, prior teaching experience, advanced degreees, and endorsements. TAPA provides furnished housing, typically shared between single teachers where each will have their own private room. The housing allowance is for 15,000NT per month if seeking other living arrangements or for someone married and the spouse is not working. We provide a round trip flight for the employee to their declared home destination for each year of service. Dependent spouses are provided travel to Taiwan and home after 2 years but do not receive regular summer travel. Related visa expenses are reimbursed upon arrival. Taiwan has national healthcare and all employees and dependents are covered with a small deduction each month. We take all the normal American holidays (thanksgiving, christmas, spring break) plus national holiday long weekends and a week off for Chinese New Year. Teachers are off the months of June and July. We are seeking someone willing to commit to two years of service.

DescriptionEducation in China is booming! The SDA church, unable to operate in China, is expanding by attaching new English language, American curriculum programs to existing schools. We are starting, and have started, new programs in some of the best elementary and secondary schools in China. These schools each have thousands of students, but our programs start from the bottom up, with only 20-25 students per class. The schools we work with are private schools but are not Christian. We have this really unique mission opportunity to go into schools, place SDA teachers, and use an SDA curriculum. So, we need lots of new teachers from grades 1-3. Classrooms are single grade, the schools in which we are establishing our programs are well-established and we have been very successful in these programs and they continue to expand. If you are excited about teaching children, want to live in a different culture, love to travel, and love to share your love of Jesus through your actions and example, we want you to come and teach with us. Teachers will initially sign a two-year contract, and after that will sign one-year contracts if they stay on. We are looking for stable teachers and while the opportunity for travel is great, we do not want teachers whose only purpose is to come to Asia to travel. We want people who love to teach, are committed to missions, and will put their heart into this rapidly growing educational field. Teachers must be native English speakers. Please send your resume to the email address listed here.
