Taipei Adventist Preparatory Academy
History Teacher (Posted April 14 2008)
Description: Taipei Adventist Preparatory Academy -- a secondary SDA day school in the heart of Taipei, Taiwan seeks applicants for a teacher to teach high school History. We are a modern school and offer an attractive salary and benefits package to our teachers. Teaching at TAPA is an excellent opportunity for those interested in learning a new language and culture.
TAPA started four years ago with five students and today we have 114 and expect this growth trend to continue. Like many other American schools around the world, we teach an American curriculum, in English, award an American high school diploma, and most of our students study here at TAPA because they hope to gain admittance to an American college or university. As such, our students are a motivated bunch. What differentiates TAPA from other American schools in Taipei is that we offer a quality Christian education, rather than just a quality education. Teaching here is a true opportunity because although we are an SDA school we often have no SDA students, and only a few Christian students.
Our salary and benefits:
- Competitive salary, higher than most other private American or International schools here in Taiwan.
- Continuing education program
- Company cell phone plan
- Furnished apartment
- Full national medical insurance
- Round trip plane ticket each year to the US.
- All residency fees, including for spouse and children, are covered by TAPA
- Airfare to TAPA is covered
Experience: We encourage committed, qualified professionals, to apply. The ideal applicant will be a native English speaker with a North American accent, have a four year BA or BS degree, and have SDA or state teaching certification. Having an MA or MS degree and/or teaching experience at the secondary level will be a plus.
We also invite new college graduates to apply if you can bring energy and fresh ideas to the classroom. Applicants should be certified.
