Science Curriculum Program

In the fall of 2012, By Design: A Journey to Excellence through Science program will be introduced to students in grades 1-8 across the North American Division (NAD).

The NAD Office of Education in collaboration with Kendall Hunt Religious Publishing, a Division of Kendall Hunt Publishing Company (the publisher of Pathways), is developing this faith-based inquiry science program. The curriculum, based on national science standards, will be presented in the context of the Seventh-day Adventist worldview.
Please be sure to enter to win a digital camera by submitting photos, video clips, or testimonials involving students in inquiry-based lab activities in your classroom. Selected submissions will be used in the By Design Science program. Submit your photos here, the deadline for submissions is April 1, 2012.
You are also invited to take a “Sneak Peek” at the By Design inquiry science program by accessing the frequent updates on this website. Currently, you can view some of the prototype sample pages of selected grade-level materials from the program. In the near future, there will be information on professional development for the By Design science program that is scheduled for January 2012 and at the NAD Teachers’ Convention in August 2012.
